Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day (a day late). I tried to get this post published last night but life kept getting in the way in the form of a baby that would not stay asleep. I would put him in his crib asleep only to have him wake right back up and start hollering. I would find him in his crib, standing, holding the side railing and screaming. When he would see me those little hands would reach out for me. It is just enough to break your heart. I finally got him to sleep but I was too tired to turn the computer back on.
I had a most lovely first Mother's day. Ian got me a Pandora necklace (you can see it in a picture below) and Chris got me three books that I have been wanting to read. Ian gave me lots of kisses, and I got to see him crawl properly across the living room for the first time (more on that below).

When Chris ordered the books he gave me from Amazon he also ordered the Penguin Race toy in the picture below. The penguins go up the stairs and down the slide squeaking the whole way. It mesmerized everyone...
...including Mason!
I thought this was a fun picture, Ian among his mess of toys. Note that I piled them in front of the TV so he won't climb up on the TV stand anymore. Also note, that it doesn't work. Ian just moves the toys and climbs up anyway. Silly boy.
Mason giving Ian a little bit of love. Ok so maybe not just a little bit. Mason has too much love to make any kiss just a little kiss.
My little monkey playing jungle gym on Daddy.
Of course, the coffee table is a drum! Didn't you know?
On Saturday we got a visit from Grandma Jo Ann, Grandpa Don, and Aunt Melissa. Ian had a good time showing off his new skills to his visitors. Jo Ann made rhubarb dump cake...I love it and it tastes like springtime. (Don't mind the blanket that is being used as a shade on the window. This time of year the sun blasts in between the blinds on that window and disrupts floor playtime in the evening.)
On Sunday I took of Ian's pants because they got covered in dog hair. While he was bottomless he crawled! Like really honest to goodness crawling, the proper way. It was those pants the whole time getting in his way. So I put on his leg warmers for the rest of the day so he could move around as he pleased and still stay warm. In this picture he was heading to Daddy's desk to meddle in the drawer.
Mama and Ian on Mother's Day. In this picture you can see the necklace that Ian got me for Mother's Day. I love it!!!
Snuggle time with Mama...my favorite part of the day!
