Thunderstorm Weekend

This weekend was the Street Festival downtown. We went and checked it out after dinner on Friday night in a rare period of time when it was not raining. They had many sidewalk sales, craft booths, live music, food, and sidewalk chalk drawings. I wish that I had remembered my camera because some of the chalk drawings were amazing. Sadly Saturday there was a huge thunderstorm so they were all probably washed away, even the ones that were covered.

Here is Ian earlier this week chilling with a bottle on the couch hanging out with me. He holds his own bottles all the time now, so I will often just put him on a pillow or recline the high chair and let him drink at his own pace. He seems to like the independence. Ian has been having a great time with his rocket ride on and walk behind toy. He was doing laps back and forth walking behind it across the house over the weekend.

I managed to catch a picture of Ian with his tongue out. He does this a lot recently. It is like he is rolling his tongue over his gums and teeth. On Friday night we got McDonald's for dinner so we could eat fast and stop over to the Street Festival. We got Ian his own Happy Meal with chicken nuggets and fries. I cut up a nugget into tiny pieces and cut up a few fries. Ian enjoyed getting to eat big people food with us. After he ate some I gave him a jar of baby food also to make sure he got enough nutrients.
I turned my back for a moment and heard a bang. When I turned around I saw this...Ian standing on the mattress and he had knocked over Chris' weather station. It was the first time he climbed up here. Everyday he gives me further reason to be on my toes.
The goofy smile.
Hanging out with Mason and Daddy (not pictured) on the mattress. Who knew it would be such a popular hang out spot.
Watch me Mommy I am about to throw myself off the mattress head first. Weeee!
Here I go...launch!
Back up and meddling on Daddy's desk.
A big smile this morning after a rough night. I ended up sleeping with Ian in the recliner half the night because he woke up so many times.
Playing with one of his bath toys, a squirting whale. They are good for chewing. The shirt says, "Diaper Loading 72% complete" and it was picked out by Daddy. Very cute, and also quite true.
Om Nom Nom Nom...whale good!
Making laps between Mommy and Daddy. We could help to turn Ian back around and he would be off walking behind his rocket again. We got tired long before he did, that is for sure. I have been getting updates that they are working with Ian at day care too, helping to get him walking. He can stand not holding on, and he will lowed himself down instead of fall most of the time. It won't be long. Lord help us.
For the past couple days Ian hasn't been feeling well. He has a runny nose and isn't sleeping well. I am not sure if it is just a cold or if it is teething, but either way he feels crummy. Today I snuggled him up with a bottle and Mason joined him. It was so cute the two of them just resting together.

At the very end of this little video you can hear Ian say "hi" but it is more like "Hi-Eee."
