One of Ian's places in our house is in front of the book shelf. He has his own cube in the shelf with the books he is allowed to look at all he wants. He knows which shelf is his and he will clear it several times a day. I put all the books back whenever he tires of reading so he can enjoy taking them back out again. I like that he likes books so much, and is learning how to handle them.
I was laying on the floor and holding the camera upside down taking pictures of Ian upside down. This one came out looking pretty cool. I just turned the picture right side up.
Ian wore this cute Star Trek uniform top, so I gave him the little communicator that was in a Burger King kids meal after the last movie came out. He played with it for a while. It was very cute.
Scotty, beam me up and take me to the toy store.
I just love the way Ian looks away from me when I take pictures sometimes. It shows off those adorable eye lashes.
Random Mason picture. He was watching the front door, keeping guard of the house and of his boy Ian.
My boys playing hard with blocks.
"I want to bang on the drum all day."
Oh Mama you are so silly. I was making funny noises and faces to get a smile out of Ian.
Ian has been making this funny little hoot noise a lot lately. I am pretty sure that it is some indication that he is happy. He seems to hoot away while he is playing. I caught a picture of him hooting.
Here are a couple pictures of Ian in action. The first is of Ian spinning Mason in Chris' computer chair. I caught Ian spinning Mason around and decided to take a little video before I stopped him. Mason was a good sport about it.The second video is of Ian walking! He made big steps (pun intended) in his walking practice this weekend. Before he would take 2 to 4 steps and sit down. Now he will hang onto anything to support himself and then take off when there isn't anything to hold onto. He can walk across the room and will either side or stumble on his own feet. It is too cute, but I am exhausted from chasing around after him. Oh boy am I in for it now.
I have a funny little story about a toy that I wanted to share also. Ian got a little dog toy from his grandma and grandpa Stacer for his birthday. The dog would bark and make little whining noises when you would roll it along. Ian liked to play with it but I noticed on Friday that it had stopped making noises. I gave it a good whack to see if the battery had not been making contact. Nothing. Ian discarded it, and later when he went back to it again it still wasn't working. I decided that it wasn't worth getting new little pill batteries for it so we tossed it in the trash. Well into Saturday we had piled varies messy stuff into the trash on top of the poor dog toy. Then suddenly, for no good reason, it started to whine and bark. It kept on going. I pulled it out and it was too gross to clean up. So when the trash men come this week our trash can will likely bark at them. I wish I could be here to see that.
