Recently Ian loves to mock things that we do, like sticking out his tongue. He will also make a "woo" sound if you say "What does a dog say? Woof." It is really cute how he is mimicking more and more. We better watch our mouths now.
The wedding we went to was on Saturday. We decided not to attend the ceremony because we were certain that Ian wouldn't be able to stay quiet that long. So Chris and I got hair cuts and ran other errands all morning and afternoon and good dressed up for the reception. Ian was so cute in his little button up shirt.
While Chris and I got dressed Ian played and I think that he could tell that he was dressed up nice. He sort of acted like he was hot stuff.
Of course, because we were doing something nice and were going to take a bunch of pictures Ian had to fall down and hurt himself. He tripped over his feet and fell face first into a dining room chair leg. It got him right between the eyes. You can see the bruise forming in this picture. It was quite swollen at first and he fought me something fierce when I was holding the ice pack on him. Poor kid.
He wouldn't stand still long enough to get a good picture. Since this is pretty much the only way we see him these days, walking away, I though I would include the picture.
And sometimes he walks to you. That is my favorite, when he walks to me with his arms up reaching for a hug. Too precious.
Daddy and Ian at the reception. This was just about the time we left. Ian was pretty tired, understandably so. He walked all around that reception hall, over and over. At one point he got away from me and got down under our table. Chris managed to catch up with him after he crawled under our table, out the other side, under the next table over and out the other side of that one. He was mister busy!
Mommy and Ian. You can see my new shorter hair cut in this picture. The head table is behind us in this picture, and it was up on a platform with stairs that ran the whole length in front. At one point Ian walked over, climbed up on the first stair and then crawled the length of it like he was on a plank. So silly.
Today Chris and I decided to take a little drive to Pinconning, MI. We went to the Northwoods Wholesale and looked around. Chris' parents go there often and have raved about the deals so we thought we would check it out. We got the clock below (that is a neon ring around the outer edge) and a mini-muffin tin (which was a whopping $1.99, awesome deal). After that we stopped at William's Cheese Outlet and got some different flavors of cheese. On our way back home we stopped at a fruit market in Kawkawlin, MI. Chris recalled stopping there in the past on the way to camp and that they had good deals. Oh boy did they, we left with two bags and spent only $8! It was a fun little mini trip and Ian travels so well. He seems to enjoy just checking new places out. He is a quiet observer.
Tonight Ian played really hard wit his toys. He was a busy little bee. Ian will turn on the ball popper and let all the balls fly out then aim it at his face too feel the air blowing in his hair. Then he will put all the balls in the compartment under the seat of his ride on toy and take off. It is just so cute watching him play on his own and seeing what he comes up with to do.

How pretty you look in that picture! And of course, Ian is a cutie as he always is. I enjoyed your explanations cause I can just "see" Ian at the wedding and playing with his pop up ball thing. The bruise isn't too bad...love you. Grandma Shirley
