His First Film

It seems like Ian has been gaining a lot more words and being brave with more sounds this week.  He is repeating us more and more often and I have caught him singing to himself while he plays a lot recently.  It is so precious watching him go through his letter books and run over to me saying "I" and point to a picture of an eye, or saying "nana" and walking around with a picture of a banana.

We had a very big first this Saturday...Ian went to his first movie!  Earlier in the week I found out that we missed our chance to see Toy Story 3 here in Mt. Pleasant.  They were only playing the 3D version from here out.  I was pretty sad about not getting to take Ian to see his favorite guy, Buzz, on the big screen.  Chris searched and found it was still playing in Lasing so we planned a little road trip.  We even met Josh and Nicole there with their son Jack, so the boys could see their first big screen movie together.

Ian did great at the movie.  He was a little fidgety and went back and forth between Chris and I a lot but he did make it though the whole movie, as did Jack.  I am so happy that we took the trip so that he could see Buzz.  I will never forget how big his eyes got when the screen lit up and he realized it was a giant TV.  For the previews and the first part of the movie Ian was hooting and making all sorts of excited sounds every time he saw something he thought was cool.  It was cute, but I had to keep shushing him because he was pretty loud.

Chris and I were playing with my camera the other day and snapped this picture.  I realized we don't get pictures of us together very often.  We need to change that.

On Sunday we got a visit from Grandpa Don and Grandma Jo Ann.  They helped us get the yard cleaned up and get some things done that I can't go on my own (since Chris is still healing.)  We took a trip to Menard's and I snapped a picture of Don trying out the big camp chair they had on display.  This thing is HUGE, and has a total of 6 cup holders.  I don't know what it would be useful for but for some reason I really want one.  haha.

Ian via my phone's camera.  I was getting a good snuggle so I snapped a picture.   Sometimes Ian still looks so small, and other times I feel his full 28 pounds and then some.  Oof.

I self portrait by Chris.  Tonight Ian re-discovered the colander, and promptly brought it to Chris and insisted he wear it as a hat.

Hella sexy hat

Ian didn't seem to be feeling well tonight.  He got up from a brief nap before dinner a crying, drooling, snotty mess.  I do hope it is just teething those last bits of molars in and not him getting sick.  While Ian was moping around Chris snapped these pictures of Ian relaxing in his chair.
