We gave Ian a Buzz Lightyear kite for his birthday. It was something I happened across on clearance and thought he might enjoy. When I took it out of the package the day of his party, I realized that it was actually a really nice kite and was better quality than I thought. I decided that we would hang it in Ian's room instead of going to try and fly it this year. I think it really looks cool and the long tale goes around half of the room!

One night this week Ian was having an extra tough time going to sleep, and I had too much to do to go and lay down with him so we put him to bed on the couch. He will stay on his little red couch on not get up, so I put that on the couch and told him to lay down. Eventually he fell asleep and I carried him off to bed. The next day Mason took advantage of the cushy bed space to nap for the day.

We had seen a big shift this week in Ian. It was like the terrible two's switch just got flipped on but at the same time his hate the bath switch was turned off! He has spectacular temper tantrum fits, complete with the throwing himself on the floor and rolling around. Now those tantrums happen when it is time to get OUT of the bath. It was like one day he just decided to play in the bath again and he has so much fun splashing that he doesn't want to stop.

Today I was working in the bedroom and looked up to find that Ian had found a new place to sit down and read.

We took a little trip up to Clare, MI today to get out and do something. Chris wanted to go for a walk to strengthen his knee so we went to Jay's Sporting Goods. Ian tried out some of the hunting blinds, or as he saw them "tents"

For lunch we tried out a little hole in the wall restaurant in Clare called the Whitehouse Restaurant. It is tiny and had only six tables but man were the burgers good! We wanted to take a picture outside when we left but Ian was busy having a temper tantrum so Chris made this little illustration for me.

Before we went home we stopped and got some treats at Cops & Doughnuts. If you are ever in Clare, you have to stop here and have a giant doughnut. They even have a maple bacon doughnut that tastes surprisingly amazing and has all the best tastes of breakfast.

When we got home Ian was so tired. I told him to go and lay down to rest for a while, hoping he would take a nap. He picked here to lay down...and for the record he would not nap.

As always there are more pictures here, and a couple videos of Ian acting like a big silly.
