This morning as we got ready for the day Ian was busy hauling his Toy Story toys around the living room. As he ran back and forth the pile of toys in him arms got lighter and lighter as they dropped here and there around the living room.
I told Ian, "OK, it's time to go to Polly's to play!" Usually, he will run to the door ready to go for the day.
Not this morning.
This morning Ian ran to his new Toy Story backpack and started packing for the day. He ran around the room, bag in hand, shoving in each Toy Story toy he owns.
"Ian we have to go now. We can't take all those toys to day care, they will get lost."
He would hear none of it and just kept packing his bag.
Finally, Daddy had to take the bag from him and sling it over his shoulder and make for the front door. Ian thought he had won, and took off for my van.
As Ian got into the van Chris slipped the bag just inside the front door and locked up.
It didn't take Ian long to realize that his bag was not going to be following him to the van. Needless to say he was upset. Very upset.
He is so in love with his Toy Story toys that it is all he can bare to part with them for the day. Poor kiddo.
On a side note: I can't help but imagine the toys coming alive in that backpack, lamenting about their almost trip to day care and the adventures they are missing out on today. I think that I might have watched those movies a few too many times.
